It is not clear how much new information will emerge Monday, and the hearing's open setting unquestionably puts Comey in a hard situation if he's asked to discuss an ongoing investigation tied to the campaign of the president.

The White House did not immediately reply to questions about the content of the tweets, if there would be a comment about the FBI's investigation into whether the Trump campaign had links to Russian Federation and Comey's remarks about wiretapping.

Trump also called on Congress and the USA intelligence community to look into classified-information leaks, tweeting: "The real story that Congress, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and all others should be looking into is the leaking of Classified information".

USA investigators say Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the hacking into the computers at the Democratic National Committee.

But Devin Nunes, the Republican who chairs the committee, said Sunday that they have so far has found no evidence that Trump's campaign colluded with Russian Federation.

The British electronic intelligence agency, the GCHQ, said the report was "utterly ridiculous and should be ignored", but when asked about it Friday at a White House news conference, Trump deflected any blame for linking the British to his wiretapping allegation.

"There was circumstantial evidence of collusion; there is direct evidence, I think, of deception", Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said on NBC's "Meet the Press". Trump later said his spokesman was simply reading a Fox News report - which the network disavowed.

But the Trump administration has rebuffed any contention that its campaign aides colluded with Russian officials in that cyberattack.

Flynn later admitted talking to the ambassador about U.S. relations with Russia just as the Obama administration was slapping punitive new sanctions and expelling three dozen Russian officials over the election interference.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement official said the agency is aware of his status and plans to take him into custody. Once inside police say the suspect went to a bathroom area and engaged in a sex act with the student.

The hearing was being hosted by the House Intelligence Committee, which announced in January it would launch a bipartisan probe to look into possible communications between the Kremlin and the campaigns.
