Security restrictions force Emirates to scale back flights to US

Emirates Airline will cut capacity to five United States cities from May, as demand weakens following travel-related restrictions rolled out by the USA government.

Some airlines started offering workarounds, such as providing loaner laptops and iPads to travelers on USA -bound flights or allowing passengers to check large electronics on the gate prior to boarding.

Daily flights from Dubai to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando in Florida will be cut to five a week from daily flights.

The changes will affect Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, Ft.

With fewer flights, some Emirates passengers may switch to big European airlines and their United States partners for travel from the Middle East and Asia.
