"We'll take as much or as little time as the writers need and, as with all our development, we will evaluate what we have when the scripts are in". Martin refused to reveal who the lucky fifth writer happened to be, but he did give away that it is a man who knows Westeros nearly as well as he does, and it is not Elio M. Garcia, who co-authored the World of Ice and Fire Anthology. "Rather than "spinoff" or 'prequel, ' however, I prefer the term 'successor show, '" he wrote.
In advance of its 25th anniversary this September, Syfy has announced a self-proclaimed network "reboot" focused on a "renewed commitment to the genre and fandom at large" - which includes the Superman prequel Krypton officially being ordered as a series. He also says it's unlikely that five series will make it to air.
Martin himself is involved with two of the projects, working alongside Brian Helgeland (A Knight's Tale, L.A. Confidential) on one and Carly Wray (Mad Men) on another. As part of this, two new high profile series pickups were announced, both with comic book origins - Krypton and the graphic novel adaptation Happy!, starring Christopher Meloni.
"We're not doing Robert's Rebellion", he said.
Game of Thrones fans may be facing the dismaying prospect of the final episodes of the HBO fantasy drama playing out this summer but there's clearly much more to come from the on-screen world of Westeros.
George previously admitted he'd been keen to create a spin-off show saying he has lots of good ideas about what could be developed beyond the series.Читайте также: Trump say it's possible he could pick Federal Bureau of Investigation head by next week
He said: "I think HBO might well do one".
For those who were holding out hope for a new series of adventures featuring the likes of Dunk & Egg or Robert's Rebellion of Hot Pie's Great Westeros Bake-Off, I have disappointing news for you. Martin points out that he's only written three of ten or eleven planned Dunk and Egg novellas. He added: "I don't know anyone who knows and loves Westeros as well as he does".
"I know thousands of you want that, I know there's a petition. but by the time I finish writing A Song Of Ice And Fire, you will know every important thing that happened in Robert's Rebellion", he said. He doesn't think the spin-offs will happen all at once but confirms five pilot scripts were indeed ordered. Though we all know George is a genius wordsmith, but I suspect he's going to have a little trouble making this one stick.
The story pretty much tells a foreboding story of what could be a fruitless chase, because the crew may be following a unsafe spacecraft that's leading them towards a bigger disaster than they ever imagined.
REUTERS/ROBERT GALBRAITHGeorge R.R. Martin may become too busy to work on 'The Winds of Winter'.
Game of Thrones may be coming to an end next year on HBO, but in true Jon Snow fashion, this show will never really die.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
