A police chief and father of six, who was sworn into office just weeks ago, died Friday in a shooting that also claimed three other lives at an OH nursing home.
ORIGINAL: (NBC News) - Four people, including a police chief and a gunman, are dead following a shooting at an OH nursing home.
A report via fox8 told of investigators discovering two deceased female employees inside the nursing home. The gunman, identified as Thomas Hartless, 43, was also found dead at the scene.
Disario was a father of six children and was expecting a seventh, said Thorp, who added that he did not know the chief. He had been police chief for three weeks.
Disario was found outside the nursing care center.

Disario was investigating a report of a man with a gun when the suspect took two people hostage outside the nursing home.
"In the last communication authorities received from the chief, he said he had the shooter in sight". The gunman was found dead with the employees.
Special agent Michael Trout from the BCI says seven special investigation agents are now conducting interviews and three crime scene agents are on the scene.
"He was shot after he entered the nursing home". One vehicle was found about a mile away at a Pilot Flying J off Interstate 70. People shouted that they needed police, the witness said.
The Kirkersville Elementary School was also put on lockdown during the incident and closed for the day.

State and local authorities said Saturday the investigation was continuing and they had no new information to release on the deaths in the village of some 500 residents, roughly 25 miles east of Columbus.
The slain police chief was identified as Steven Eric Disario, who headed the Kirkersville Police Department, Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp said.
