Rajinikanth, speaking at the second day of his Fan Meet event, said, "I lived in Karnataka for 23 years and Tamil Nadu for 43 years, Although I am from Karnataka, you welcomed me, made me true Tamilian". "But when the war comes, let us encounter it. God is there!" said Rajinikanth to his fans. The remaining 44 I have spent here.

In no less than a vote appeal he also sought the support of his fans saying, "I will call you when there's a war".

Having had his run-ins with the powers that be in the past, the actor has come a long way from his first outburst in 1996 when he said "even God can't save Tamil Nadu" if AIADMK was elected again. Rival party DMK had won the elections that year.
