As loudwire.com reported: "Chris Cornell is one of many men on death row, sentenced to die by hanging".
Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has died suddenly at the age of 52, according to USA reports, saddening music fans the world over.
Anyone who has seen the photos knows them immediately: Black and white, blurred with motion, the light trailing past the bodies, all of which are sweaty, and in Chris Cornell's case, naked from the torso up.
The prolific 52-year-old singer was widely regarded as one of the icons of the 90s grunge music scene, with one of the most recognisable voices of all time. However, the thing that pushed them high above the fray was Cornell's combination of technical ability and raw emotional power.
A dream result in the Derby
The UAE Derby victor blundered spectacularly at the start, and was subsequently taken out of the race by Christophe Soumillon. The next race in the Triple Crown series is May 20 - the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
Soundgarden reunited in 2010 and embarked on the current U.S. tour in April. I wasn't there myself, but by all accounts it was a solid show.
According to his representative, rocker Chris Cornell, who gained fame as the lead singer of Soundgarden and later Audioslave, has died at age 52.
Cornell was the kind of rock star that doesn't exist now. In 2001, he joined Audioslave, a supergroup that included former Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford.
Below are some of Cornell's best festival appearances through the years. The band had been in the middle of a US tour. It appeared on his second solo album, "Carry On".
Chris Cornell: Audioslave and Soundgarden singer dies aged 52
The Soundgarden frontman tragically passed away at the age of only 52, and now, his death has been ruled as a suicide by hanging. A police spokesman told two Detroit newspapers that the singer was found with a band around his neck.
When a person ends their own life, it is tempting to draw a conclusion of some sort from it, for those of us left breathing in the dust of their decision to glean some lesson.
But right now we are running out of true rock gods, and whatever comes of that idea, Cornell will forever be a fixture in that family tree. If they don't have enough money it's not that they have no money, they actually have something and it's called poverty. You're either going in one direction or in another direction.
The music industry mourned his sudden death online.
KEXP, Seattle's popular independent radio station, paid tribute to Cornell throughout Thursday morning.
