At least two dozen of the 50 or so trailers were damaged at the Prairie Lakes Estates trailer park in Chetek, Wisconsin, where a 46-year-old man was killed.
Much of the damage is at the Prairie Lake Estate Mobile Home Park in Cameron. He also added that when the responders first came to the scene there were a lot of people yelling and asking for help.
The Red Cross and Salvation Army are assisting people who lost their homes in the storm.
"I know there were walls on top of people", Fitzgerald told reporters. "That's how it was described to me".
The length of its path is still being determined, but there is a miles-long trail of destruction through Barron County and into neighboring Rusk County, Fitzgerald said. "There's a whole row where there should be trailers that there's nothing but debris".

The National Weather Service says its preliminary damage rating for the tornado that destroyed the trailer park was a strong EF2.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs, the National Weather Service will send Damage Survey Teams to the area on Wednesday morning to assess the locations, strengths and numbers of tornadoes.
"We still have some people unaccounted for and we're trying to determine where they are, if they are somewhere else and OK, or missing", Fitzgerald said.
Fitzgerald said all local law enforcement had responded to the mobile home park, along with 12 area ambulances and six fire departments.

A Palestinian emergency worker said that 11 Palestinians were taken to hospital, a lot of them wounded by rubber bullets. Soldiers fired tear gas and stun grenades, but the number of Palestinian casualties was not immediately known.
Multiple people were trapped inside homes after the tornado, KOCO.com reported. He estimates the park had around 50 homes.
Because of the possibility of severe weather, the National Weather Service urged people to keep an eye the weather Thursday and to check its Facebook page for updated information.
"A tornado passed in five States Tuesday night, including in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin".
The Wisconsin tornado was part of a huge swath of the Plains and Upper Midwest threatened with severe weather and followed a turbulent but less violent night of storms in southern Wisconsin on Monday night.
Damaging wind gusts between 60 and 70 miles per hour caused extensive tree and power line damage and left thousands without power. There was no immediate word on any damage or possible injuries from that twister.

Tod Pritchard, a state Emergency Management spokesman, said there also was a report of a tornado in Rusk County.
