Weeks after his firing, Flynn retroactively registered with the Justice Department.
The job gave Flynn access to the president and almost every secret held by USA intelligence agencies.
Two sources familiar with the conversation reportedly said he made the revelation to Trump lawyer Donald McGahn, who is now the White House counsel.
But Flynn has also received a great deal of attention over Trump's unusual devotion to him.
Former Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes Is Dead
Ailes went into politics when he started to advise President Richard Nixon on how to connect with television viewers. Ailes asked Reagan, then in his early 70s, how he would handle being asked about his age.
His legal issues have been a problem for the White House from the beginning and are at the center of a growing political crisis for Trump.
The plan was only approved by Trump after Flynn was sacked in February for misleading USA vice president Mike Pence and other White House officials about his ties to Russia's ambassador to the US. The day after Flynn was sacked, Trump allegedly asked Comey to drop an ongoing probe into Flynn's links with Russian Federation. He fired Comey on May 9.
The White House, presumably too busy churning out a series of statements refuting other interlinked stories, declined to comment.
The committee is one of several on Capitol Hill investigating possible collusion between Russian Federation and President Trump's 2016 campaign. Flynn was feeling down and out during a consolatory dinner with friends at a Virginia restaurant, and he let slip that Trump contacted him on or around April 25 and urged him to "stay strong".
China says hopes new South Korean government will correct problems
Disarmament Ambassador Wood said China was key given that 90 percent of North Korea's trade was with that country. The council demanded North Korea halt its tests and said it was ready to impose further sanctions.
The New York Times has reviewed one of the subpoenas.
Alptekin, the chair of the semi-official Turkish-American Business Council helped organize Turkish President Recep Erdogan's 2015 visit to Washington. Trump went ahead and hired Flynn as his national security adviser anyway.
The Times reported Wednesday that Flynn had first divulged the existence of the investigation to the transition team's chief lawyer Don McGahn, who now serves as White House counsel. Sally Yates, an Obama-holdover who served as Acting Attorney General for the first ten days of the Trump administration, told Congress she warned McGahn that Flynn has been compromised by Russian Federation, and was subject to blackmail. "Given the importance of the job, the President thought there were better people for it, and that Flynn wasn't up for the job", a former senior Obama administration official told CNN of Obama's decision to ward Trump off of Flynn. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid angering Justice Department or White House officials.
At the same time, his firm began doing work for a firm with ties to the Turkish government. But according to a report in Yahoo News, people close to Flynn say that his loyalty has not wavered and that the retired general has no plans to turn on Trump.
