Samsung Galaxy S8 iris scanner easily fooled by hackers

Samsung recently told me it was thinking about the tech for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, but Kyle Brown, head of technology, content and launch management at Samsung, said: "We [Samsung] didn't feel the time is right for it right now".

Otherwise, the update shouldn't take too long to download and install on either the Galaxy S6 edge+ or Galaxy Note 5.

Previous it was believed that Samsung wanted to do this on the Galaxy S8 but it proved technically too hard, forcing the Korean tech giant to move the fingerprint sensor to the rear of the device. This can be done via the official Samsung website from where you purchased the phone.

He also urged America's Arab allies to isolate Tehran " until the Iranian regime is willing to be a partner for peace ". Analysts fear tensions are growing out of control.

AT&T has released a software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge smartphones.

But now, a German group of white-hat hackers are saying hacking an iris scanner is easier than it seems.

This hack is even simpler, and could conceivably be pulled off with just a photo lifted from Facebook, a conventional laser printer and a contact lens.

Rosenstein said he consulted his staff as well as Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, and none of them recalled such a request. The White House also has acknowledged that Kushner met with Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the USA , in late November.

He then sits down with a Samsung Galaxy S8 and registers his own irises to the phone, so that he can unlock the screen using his eyes. According to CCC, the most reliable way to fool the phone is to use an infrared photo of a person's face taken with a camera's night mode active.

Each option you have for unlocking your phone comes with trade-offs and potential risks. The ear jack is located on the bottom, or appropriately situated for the high-performance, AKG-tuned earphones that are included with the Galaxy S8, as reported by BGR.

As the hacker collective noted, Samsung Pay, which launched in the United Kingdom just last week, gives users the option of using iris or fingerprint scans to authorize payments.

When a local radio host asked him a rather innocuous question, James responded with: "You only ask questions when we lose". They began to exert good defense and display great shooting. "I thought he flopped", Jerebko said.

The CCC, which famously found a way around Apple's Touch ID sensor back in 2013, has boasted about how easily it managed to bypass the "ultrasecure" iris scanner on the Galaxy S8 by creating a "dummy eye". "Under some circumstances, a high-resolution picture from the internet is sufficient to capture an iris". If consistent with the S7 Active, the S8 Active will share the same specs as its flagship cousin, but have a boost in battery capacity to hopefully 4000mAh as well.
