Bernardo Silva: Manchester City complete £43m deal for Monaco midfielder

31 May 2017

City are set to win the race for the Portugal global ahead of neighbours Manchester United, who were also interested in the £50million-rated 22-year-old.

NAIJ.com reported that Pep Guardiola is planning a summer clear-out as some of his stars are set to leave including Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho.

"I think Portugal now have a generation with lots of good young players in midfield mostly but I think Bernardo Silva could be one of the greatest players in the world". His first season in the Premier League was unlike how it was in the La Liga or the Bundesliga and the Manchester City owners realised that in order to become one of the best clubs, the Spaniard needed time.

"I'm very happy to be part of Manchester City's team and I look forward to trying to do my best to help the team reach their goals".

The stock witnessed -7.95% declines, -21.88% declines and -24% declines for the 1-month, 3-month and 6-month period, respectively. Three investment analysts have rated the stock with a hold rating and two have assigned a buy rating to the stock.

The 22-year-old will join City from July 1, when the summer transfer window officially opens. He has also won 12 caps for Portugal.

Manchester City are likely to have broken their transfer record within the next 48 hours with the signing of Bernardo Silva.

Silva, with 10 goals and 10 assists to his name in the 2016-17 campaign, will wear the number 20 shirt next season.

But Guardiola is also keen to add a dynamic attacking midfielder to his ranks, despite already boasting Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan, who is hoped to be fit for the start of next season.

Rouhani earlier responded to Trump's criticism by saying stability could not be achieved in the Middle East without Iran's help. The US President Donald Trump, at the summit, vowed to embrace Tehran's two regional enemies, Saudi Arabia and Israel.

"It feels great to be coming to City", said Silva.

City have endured a less than impressive first season under Guardiola, with the Manchester club failing to win silverware and only coming third in the Premier League.

And sources have told ESPN FC that City are also set to make a move for his Monaco teammate Benjamin Mendy.

"When I was a kid I was looking at him and some other players, now to have the chance to play with them is great".
