President Trump details one trillion dollar infrastructure plan

10 June 2017

He said his new vision will rebuild the country by generating one trillion dollars in infrastructure investment through new partnerships.

"The American people deserve the best infrastructure anywhere in the world", said Trump.

At the riverfront rally, Trump said if the American economy is to completely recover "we must end Obamacare".

Under Trump's proposal, the federal government would commit just $200 billion.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: We build in foreign countries. "And I just closed my eyes and said, do it", Trump said, adding, "It's up, it's running, it's attractive, it's great, everybody's happy, the sun is still shining, the water's clean".

Yet if part of the aim was to build crucial bipartisan support for a plan he has claimed will boost jobs, Trump was unable to mask his disdain for his political rivals.

Russian jet intercepts US bombers over Baltic Sea
The US Defense Department has released dramatic photos of a Russian aircraft intercepting American bombers over the Baltic Sea. A Russian foreign ministry official said the appearance of the B-52H would not ease tensions between the West and Moscow.

SCHAPER: Well, the president has made this his infrastructure week, so he'll be meeting with mayors and governors at the White House tomorrow.

This address comes on a busy news day in Washington, D.C. Early this morning, Trump announced that his new pick for Federal Bureau of Investigation director is Christopher Wray, a former Justice Department official.

Withrow said if he passed on the costs to his employees, they would likely leave the company. "I mean, every single thing", a frustrated GOP president said. "Obamacare was one of the biggest broken promises in the history of politics", he went on.

'Just yesterday we learned that the last statewide insurer in OH is leaving.

Trump also mentioned his announcement last week that he was pulling the US out of what he dismissively referred to as the "so-called" Paris climate accord.

"We will not be content to allow our nation to become a museum for former glories", Trump said. We will keep our nation so great and so strong, and we will never have outside forces telling us what to do and how to do it, believe me.

'100 Percent' Would Testify Under Oath About Comey
After all, Thursday's hearing was called by the Republican chairman of a GOP-led panel in a Republican-led Senate. Asked if he would be willing to give his version of events under oath, Mr Trump replied: "100 per cent".

President Trump delivered a campaign-style speech June 7 in Cincinnati to again tout his $1 trillion infrastructure plan that remains under development. "But I take so much heat for nonsense that it probably overrode it", he added, indirectly referring to mounting controversies in his administration, including his firing Comey and an investigation into the Trump campaign's alleged ties with Russian Federation.

Roger Stone, a longtime Trump political ally, acknowledged in a phone interview that recent events appear to show that the president increasingly is doing his own thing while his White House staff is executing what seems like a different plan. "Wait until you see what I'm going to do for you steel workers".

"The president will present his sustainable solution to this problem in OH on Wednesday", she said.

Trump said the same of the now-fired Comey in the early days of his whirlwind presidency, setting off speculation about what he might have been implying.

US inland waterways are mainline routes for transporting agricultural products, but officials say they've fallen into disrepair.

Superville contributed from Washington. Shown are PlayCare co-owner Rays Whalen, left, and CSS Distribution Group President Dan Withrow and their families. Even as the White House tries to publicly focus on one issue, they are regularly knocked off course by news about Comey's remarks and messages sent out by the President, often on Twitter.

I would speak under oath on Comey
The president also denied having asked for a pledge of loyalty, as Comey asserted during Thursday's much-anticipated testimony. Trump's stunning charges escalated an already fraught confrontation between his administration and Comey .

Trump spoke along the Ohio River, not far from the Brent Spence Bridge, where President Obama spoke in 2011 to promote infrastructure spending.
