Federal Bureau of Investigation helps search for Chinese visiting scholar missing for 6 days

University police released surveillance video Monday showing Zhang getting off a bus in Urbana the afternoon of June 9 and entering a black Saturn Astra vehicle shortly thereafter.

Yingying Zhang, 26, was about a month into a yearlong appointment at the University of Illinois' Urbana-Champaign campus when she vanished June 9.

Yingying Zhang, a Chinese college student visiting the University of IL, has been missing since Friday, June 9.

According to police, Zhang boarded a Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Teal line bus at 1:35 PM and got off at 1:52 PM at Springfield and Mathews avenues in Urbana, police said.

As six days have passed since Zhang vanished, it is possible that the suspect has gone to other USA states, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.
