Mike Zimmer says eye is doing great

He said doctors will be "diligent" and likely would catch any possible problem with his left eye in time to prevent further damage. Granted, that light is still a little foggy, but he's heading toward it now at a good pace.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - When the Minnesota Vikings start training camp in Mankato, Minnesota, at the end of next month, coach Mike Zimmer expects the issues in his right eye to be a thing of the past. The retina is flawless. The pressure is great. Zimmer said Thursday that he was told the retina is "perfect" and that his doctor "would be absolutely shocked" if the coach experienced a recurrence of the issues that have plagued him for the last nine months. I'm just about out of the woods.

He estimates the bubble should be gone in seven to 10 days, but until that happens he is still under "no fly" directives. My daughter is getting married a week from Sunday so I'm going to have to drive to Dallas.

If he keeps progressing the way he has been recently, Zimmer said, a ninth surgery on the eye should not be necessary.

Normal life in the hills was affected in response to the shutdown with schools, markets and ATMs remaining closed. There was a complete shutdown in the Darjeeling hills on the second day of the indefinite strike call by the GJM.

"Maybe they're always a little cautious", Zimmer said Thursday after spring drills concluded with a three-day minicamp. "... He actually said I'm more anxious about this eye than your other eye".

Mike Zimmer said Latavius Murray's ankle should be healed by the start of camp. "What he said was because your eyes are typically shaped the same way, a one in five chance something could happen in your other eye. It's time to go".

Zimmer did not believe missing two weeks because of his eye condition had any adverse affect. Safety Harrison Smith agreed.

"I think that has been really big", Bradford said. "It was hard for me. I'm just going to go out there to get better every single day". He then got injured and missed a few games, but once he came back he received more touches because Oakland realized their backup running backs were not the answer.

"When I was down in Kentucky (Bradford) would text me every night and ask, 'What did you see? I'm hoping I don't get to the ninth life".
