"There are flames around us'". Gloria Trevisan and Marco Gottardi, both 27, lived on the 23rd floor. At least 17 people are now confirmed to have died in the blaze which broke out at 1am on Wednesday.

He said the investigation into the blaze will seek to produce a "factually-based understanding of what happened" on the night of the fire and the events which led to it.

The Prime Minister, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan all visited the scene of the tragedy on Thursday, where locals' anger at the inferno is growing. She returned to Downing Street without making any remarks.

Italian couple Marco Gottardi, 27, and Gloria Trevisan, 27, are also missing.

Police fear they may never identify all of those killed in the Grenfell Tower disaster. The couple, both architects, moved to London only three months ago. "Theresa May was here but she didn't speak to any of us".

The couple's names weren't on hospital lists, ANSA reported.

There are stories of people of all ages working alongside one another and bravery from the youngest of victims, like the school children described in the tweet below.

Sessions To Testify In Front Of Senate Intel Committee Tuesday
The hearing will bring sharp questioning for Sessions and likely some uncomfortable moments from the Trump administration. Concerns have been raised about whether Sessions helped otherwise subvert the ongoing Russia-related investigations.

But Cundy said that there is no suggestion the blaze was terror-related.

"It is also heartening to see the incredible generosity of community volunteers rallying to help those affected by this bad event", the queen said.

Their bravery of all those who put their lives at risk to save others can not be underestimated.

The monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh also have hailed volunteers offering support to dozens of victims from the devastating blaze. "It just reminded me of 9/11", said Muna Ali, 45.

The west London MC claims rising death toll is "corporate manslaughter".

Theresa May spoke to Dany Cotton, the commissioner of the London Fire Brigade at Grenfell Tower.

More than 200 firefighters worked through the night.

At Least 7 Killed, 59 Injured In Explosion Near School In China
Seven people have died and 59 people have been injured in an explosion at the front gate of a kindergarten in China. No children or teachers were among the casualties as they were still in the class when the explosion happened.

Entire families are missing, and the death toll is certain to rise. "The severity and the heat of the fire would mean it is an absolute miracle for anyone to be left alive", Cotton told Sky News. Structures may need to be erected inside the torched building to make it safe enough to search.

'We hope and pray that Khadija is amongst the survivors in hospital and not perished in that building, as I suspect hundreds will have done by the end of this count, ' he said.

The tower, built in 1974 on the low-rent housing estate in North Kensington, sits in a part of west London surrounded by some of the most affluent areas of the capital.

Smoke was still wafting out of the shell of the Grenfell Tower on Thursday, and a Reuters cameraman saw a big piece of building cladding fall from the building.

Londoners who wish to help those affected by the fire are being encouraged to donate clothes, food and other essential items. This will be a slow and painstaking process which will require a large amount of shoring up work inside the building, especially on the upper floors, which will be the most challenging for us to access and search. Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has offered free food for survivors at one of his nearby eateries.

The MP for Tottenham blasted living standards of those living in tower blocks across the United Kingdom and said more needs to be done to protect them.

But for now, authorities are still struggling to find out how many people were actually in the 24-storey building when the fire started in the early hours of Wednesday.

Davis stays on as UK Brexit Secretary
Mr Rifkind also turned on the Prime Minister during his tirade as he mocked her for not winning a majority in the election. Instead of accepting defeat, however, May claims that she will continue to push for Brexit negotiations.

The many questions being asked now include whether a "stay put" fire protocol, which called for residents to remain in their apartments if there was a fire elsewhere in the building, might have turned a lethal fire even more deadly.
