A jury deliberated for more than 52 hours over six days before declaring itself hopelessly deadlocked.

The judge said he saw no evidence of coercion or trouble in the deliberating room after the jurors reported their impasse on Thursday and he instructed them to keep trying for a verdict.

The jurors have re-examined both Cosby's and Constand's versions of the night in question, with particular focus on the pills that he gave her before the sexual encounter began.

He did not take the stand in his sexual assault trial.

More than 40 women have said that Cosby sexually assaulted them, though this case was the first to be tried in criminal court. Some of the allegation date back to the 1970s.

That could account for the missing sailors, who may have been on deck on watch or even just relaxing in the night air, he said. On May 9, the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain was struck by a South Korean fishing boat off the Korean Peninsula.

Montgomery District Attorney Kevin Steele said he plans to retry Cosby.

"He walked out but the bars were all around him", she said.

Delivered through a spokesman, she stated: How do I describe the district attorney?

More than a dozen excerpts from Cosby's deposition, including the "friends" comment and his acknowledgment that he'd gone "somewhere between permission and rejection" during a previous encounter with Constand.

Bill Cosby was facing three charges of aggravated indecent assault and prosecutors have said they intend to retry the case.

Only one other accuser, Kelly Johnson, was allowed to testify as prosecutors sought to establish that Cosby had demonstrated a pattern of assault.

Cosby's wife, Camille, who attended just one day of the trial, issued a fierce statement on Saturday, read out by a representative.

She told jurors that Cosby gave her pills that made her woozy and then penetrated her with his fingers as she lay paralyzed on a couch, unable to tell him to stop.

In recent years, Cosby, 79, had admitted to decades of philandering, and to giving quaaludes to women to induce them to have sex, smashing the image he had built as a moralizing public figure and the upstanding paterfamilias in the wildly popular 1980s and '90s sitcom "The Cosby Show".

Cosby sat at the defense table, appearing still and solemn. According to The Los Angeles Times's Steven Zeitchik, the prosecution has already declared they will re-try the case, which the judge has declared should happen within the next 120 days.

Before going on trial, Cosby expressed hope he could eventually resume his career.
