Brooks Koepka Wins US Open With Record-Tying Effort

19 June 2017

One of those rare players who looks like he has sleep-overs in the PGA Tour's fitness trailer.

The city is home to defending U.S. Open champion Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and, of course, Tiger Woods.

4 Koepka's great-uncle Dick Groat played shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates, won two World Series and was the 1960 National League MVP. The conditions were so tough. "This will lead to more good tournaments, I'm sure". He posted the low round of the day.

"I felt like I was playing really good", he noted". "No regrets, I did play well".

Q. Does this sting at all for you?

"It means a lot, first time play in a major and make the cut", Li told Reuters after signing his final-round scorecard.

HARMAN: Yeah, I've been in lots of golf tournaments. So this didn't feel horribly different than those.

"I felt like I should be winning more", he said. "I've done it before, but he did it today".

"A few years later, he is winning the U.S. Open". Do you think it should?

At Least 1 Dead After Vehicle Hits Pedestrians Near North London Mosque
Finsbury Park mosque was associated with the radical cleric Abu Hamza until 2005, when it was taken over by new management. A witness who lives opposite the scene told the BBC there was a white van stopped near the Finsbury Park mosque.

I think there's no reason why it couldn't host another one. I think it's a great test. He's not anxious about the low scores the first few rounds.

At Erin Hills on Sunday, the story of the day before the leaders teed off was the course itself.

THE BIG EASY: Weekend rain softened the greens at Erin Hills. That's why the scores are low.

The golf life is perhaps not something you would wish on a friend. But this place is a fair test.

He bogeyed the 12th and 13th holes.

Brian Harman was obviously disappointed with his bogey to finish.

"He birdied 14, 15, 16, and that was kind of lights out", Harman said. "I love traveling. I'll go anywhere. It really got to me is all I can say".

Unfortunately, what happened was he discovered that he still has a long way to go if he hopes to one day become one of golf's elite. "So it's pretty simple, I just didn't get it in the hole fast enough". Surprisingly, that was his only victory until this, his breakthrough at major championship level.

HARMAN: Yeah, that would probably be a better question for me to answer.

Trump to restrict business with Cuban military, limit travel
Be proactive - Use the "Flag as Inappropriate" link at the upper right corner of each comment to let us know of abusive posts. US President Barack Obama (R) shakes hands with Cuban President Raul Castro (L) in New York, September 29, 2015.

"She's hurting, I don't know if she'll be able to caddie next week", he said. "I just won in Japan in November", he said about the Dunlop Phoenix event.

And yet, the runner-up finish was his fourth top-five finish in his past five starts, including a victory at the Wells Fargo Championship. That was never a problem in golf and he overpowered Erin Hills despite the course playing the longest in tournament history. I'd played so many weeks in a row. Seems the contender list here in the heart of major golf season is, like the universe itself, ever-expanding.

Bogey - Patrick Reed: Captain America was rocking his Ryder Cup trousers again (Dig his style, why let perfectly good trousers go to waste?), but they didn't provide the same mojo they did during a Saturday 65.

It was a terrific final round with a bevy of young players trying to prove they had what it takes to win a major. Now, he says, "I don't even know what it was". "That was kind of the changing point of the round for me".

FSU head coach Trey Jones, who coached Koepka, took part in an in-game interview at the College World Series on ESPN2, talking in the middle of the fourth in a game between Florida and TCU. "So it's getting that much harder to win 'em".

Q. You talked about the chip you have on your shoulder, but it sounds like you embrace it and use it in a way. Yeah, it's definitely something I draw upon.

HARMAN: Yeah, I felt pretty calm. I was proud of the way I parred 1.

It rewarded good shots and penalized bad shots. And I would have if Brooks hadn't have played so well. I think that's been the consensus from everybody. "It's going to be a really cool day for someone tomorrow", the world number nine said.

Q. What would you bring up about yourself if you were writing about yourself? I don't try to be anything I'm not.

Mali security minister: 4 jihadis killed in resort attack
