A spokesman for Airbus said: "We do not comment on discussions that we may or may not be having with potential customers".

Boeing Commercial Airplanes Chief Executive Kevin McAllister said the USA planemaker hopes to conclude a three-year study of a gap between narrowbody and wide-body jets soon, but declined to say when it might take the next steps towards launching a possible new "mid-market" aircraft family.

The 737 MAX continues to be the fastest-selling airplane in Boeing history, accumulating more than 3,700 orders to date.

Jordan Spieth has described Erin Hills as an "awesome golf course" after finishing his US Open campaign with a three-under 69. His second shot drifted off the fairway, and his third was over the green in the fescue. "I think that's a pretty good week".

Indonesia's Lion Mentari Airlines PT is studying an order for at least 20 planes and perhaps as many as 50 from a combination of commitments and conversions of existing orders for smaller 737 Max jets, the people said.

The Max 10, which will be Boeing's first new model since the unveiling of the 777X series at the Dubai Air Show in 2013, will be 5 1/2 feet (1.68 meters) longer than the Max 9, now the biggest member of the re-engined 737 family, which was launched alongside the Max 7 and 8 in 2011. Boeing will also show its 737 Max 9 and Airbus will show the single-aisle A321, popular for its fuel efficiency.

A handful of airlines were said to be shopping for planes in advance of the show including Peruvian low-priced startup Viva Air, owned by Irelandia Aviation led by the son of Ryanair founder Tony Ryan, which could place an order for Airbus.

In order to carry the extra payload, the Max 10 will be equipped with larger, higher-thrust engines.

Anthony police department, which said "the public will be best served if Officer Yanez is no longer a police officer in our city". A jury of twelve cleared Officer Jeronimo Yanez of all charges connected to his July shooting of Castile, a black man.

Overall, the changes will lead to a 13 per cent reduction in cost per seat compared with the current A380, Airbus said.

"Simply put, the 737 MAX 10X would be the most profitable single-aisle airplane the industry has ever seen", he wrote in a blog entry. Airbus says its tweaked design will add a further 80 seats to the world's largest passenger plane.

The planemaker predicts the need for 35,000 new planes worth $5.3 trillion over the next two decades, an increase from last year's estimates.

The star of the show will likely be the cutting-edge F-35 stealth jet fighter.
