Rocket League announced for Switch with cross-network play

19 June 2017

Now, as Psyonix unveils the game's upcoming Switch release, those cross-platform possibilities are expanding as well.

This E3 has been a good one for many who are fans of playing online games with friends and strangers across different console and PC platforms.

Rocket League already counted itself among one of the few games that allowed cross-platform play between PC and a console.

New York Yankees: Which prospects could be traded?
Two weeks after sustaining a concussion, Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury isn't sure when he will return. The New Jersey native surrendered at least eight hits in each of his last five turns and is 1-3 in that span.

But what might surprise you is that Nintendo themselves actually went to developer Psyonix and asked them to make the game on the Switch.

Rocket League developer Psyonix in an interview with our friend at Polygon stated that (for Rocket League) it's their dream and they would do anything to make it come true (cross-network play including PlayStation).

All in all, there are some really fantastic games coming our way over the next year or two, and we can't wait to get our hands on them. Sony reiterated at E3, however, that it isn't interested in permitting PS4 owners to play with consumers on other consoles.

Macron's En Marche poised for big win in French parliamentary poll
Three pollsters projected turnout to be at 42-43 percent at the close of polling, a record low in the post-war Fifth Republic. Interior Ministry data showed turnout was 35.33 percent at 5 p.m. (1500 GMT), 10 points lower than at the same time in 2012.

Our favourite Italian plumber (sorry Luigi) returns on 27 October in another innovative world with new abilities and tricks, and looks set to once again be the leading Nintendo game, along with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. "It's literally something we could do with a push of a button, metaphorically", said Dunham. "The only thing that we know is that we can't do it yet".

Except it's not all platforms- Sony and PlayStation are very specifically sitting this out, as they are all cross platform play in general. Being able to connect many Joy-Con to a Switch opens the door for group play in local multiplayer, and "Rocket League" is going to have that. "In reality it's a web page with a checkbox on it".

"Technically it's possible", said Dunham. Instead, they are concerned with the safety of their users on various Non-PlayStation platforms.

He still built a six-shot lead through 36 holes, despite hitting his tee shot into the ocean on the 18th hole and salvaging bogey. Indeed Matsuyama is now the highest ranked player in the field with the top three in the world all missing the cut.

Since there are no technical limitations for cross-network play, Dunham says, "Right now it's just a political barrier we need to help figure out how to crack". "That's all we need to do".
