Earlier this week, when a Washington Post report was seemingly confirmed by the President himself on Twitter, it looked like Donald Trump was being investigated for obstruction of justice in the wake of his firing former F.B.I. director James Comey during the still-ongoing Russian Federation investigation.
If true, the claims would represent a major turning point in the investigation, which until now has focused on the possibility of Russian interference with the election; according to those officials, the direction of the investigation changed after the firing of former FBI Director James Comey.
When Sekulow insisted that Trump fired Comey at the recommendation of the deputy attorney general, Todd noted;that Trump himself told NBC anchor Lester Holt he planned on firing Comey regardless of the deputy attorney general and the attorney general's recommendation.
Trump would later fire Comey, saying at first that he had done so on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, but later admitted that he had chose to fire Comey prior to hearing from the Justice Department and that he had done so because of his frustration about the Russian Federation investigation.
Undercooked Warburton anxious about Lions spot
Dan Biggar (concussion) and Sam Warburton (ankle) will return against Highlanders , but Ross Moriarty is out with a back strain. If he comes through in Dunedin, Warburton will be in the first of those two categories.
Asked on Fox News about reports that Trump may consider removing Rosenstein and maybe Mueller from their posts, Sekulow said, "I've heard nothing about that at all". The fact of the matter is the president has not been and is not under investigation.
Trump is under pressure to reveal whether he has any tape recordings of private conversations with Comey.
"This is is going to move forward", he said.
"Now my sources are telling me he's begun some preliminary planning", Thomas said. But he thought it would be best for the American people and look, I've got the letter- DICKERSON: Let me ask you- SEKULOW: And the two letters from both the-it's important here. He maintained that the president's actions won't prevent any of the investigations from proceeding, and that getting to the bottom of what happened would benefit all involved, including President Trump. "The president issued that tweet, that social media statement, based on a fake report, a report with no documented sources, from the Washington Post".
Rep. Adam Schiff says he wants the White House to acknowledge the tapes or make clear there are no tapes and "it was an idle threat".
India take on Pakistan in final of ICC Champions Trophy
With the bat in hand, India found themselves under early pressure after losing both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for just 6 runs. To retain the title, India will have to produce the highest successful run chase in Trophy history in cricket's biggest rivalry.
Last week, Trump sent a tweet referring to being the victim of a "witch hunt".
Schiff said if the panel can't get an answer then he believes a subpoena will be needed.
Fellow panelist Angus King, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, estimated that investigators are just 20 percent into their probe, which could last for months. "And as far as that goes, I'd say we're 20% into it", King said. He added: "A lot of people have said, 'When do you think you'll be done?' Maybe the end of the year. And he's expressing himself in that way", Rubio said on "Meet the Press".
They include a claim he had been wiretapped by the Obama administration, his Oval Office remarks to Russian diplomats about the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, his private musings about the possibility of firing the Russia special counsel, his claim that there are recordings of White House conversations, and his comments about a "military" deportation operation.
