20 June 2017

Former pound-for-pound king and five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. made the official announcement on social media Wednesday, confirming that he will exit a 23-month retirement at age 40 to face Conor McGregor, the UFC superstar, in a boxing match on August 26 in Las Vegas.

Mayweather announced the fight on his Instagram account with graphic saying "IT'S OFFICIAL!", showing pictures of both fighters and listing Las Vegas as the location.

After months of insults and big talk on social media, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor will finally bring their feud to the ring. He also included photos of the two combatants.

Neither fighter listed a venue in their announcements.

The new feature should begin rolling out to all users on iOS and Android in the coming days as a part of Instagram v10.26. Snap shares declined about 3 percent after the new Instagram Stories daily active user numbers were announced.

McGregor has never competed in a professional boxing match, but most of his success in UFC came through his punching ability.

"Everybody is happy with this deal", White said.

Mayweather (49-0 boxing) fought a large portion of his boxing career as a lightweight, while McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) is the UFC's champion at 155 pounds.

Despite having little or no boxing experience, White insists his MMA client McGregor is confident of victory.

Cosby deadlock makes task of finding second jury even more difficult
In it, Cosby referred to Gianna as "mum" as he recalled in graphic detail that he gave her daughter, then 31, an orgasm. Cosby's criminal defense lawyer, Brian McMonagle, however, is confident in his client's chances of beating the charges.

The fight will be televised on pay-per-view on Showtime and would likely gross tens of millions of dollars.

Mayweather will reportedly be paid over 100 million USA dollars for the contest, which will be broadcast on pay-per-view networks across the world.

Mayweather and Pacquiao were OK during press conferences, but McGregor will take it to another level.

But McGregor, whose UFC titles have come at 145 and 155 pounds, is under long-term contract to the UFC and needed the company to go along with making the bout. "When two men step into the ring anything can happen", White said of southpaw McGregor.
