US Police say that the killing of a Muslim girl near a mosque close to Washington DC is being treated as a road rage incident.

According to The Washington Post, Hassanen and her friends were approached by a motorist after leaving a restaurant early Sunday morning, and there was a dispute.

Nabra Hassanen's body was found in a pond Sunday afternoon, hours after she and a group of friends who had been praying all night at the mosque, went for breakfast at an IHOP and were confronted by a man while walking back around 4 a.m. Torres, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, was arraigned Monday and ordered to be held without bail pending a court appearance on July 19.

The suspect in Sunday's killing of a South Lakes High School sophomore is under an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

About 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, a group of about 15 teenagers were walking and riding bikes on Dranesville Road in Herndon. The group had recently left an all-night prayer service during Ramadan at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society.
