21 June 2017

Aside from the man who allegedly wore the bomb belt, there are no other deaths from the incident, Reuters reported.

Gare Centrale is largely underground, located in the heart of Brussels, a few blocks from the Grand Place and the Manneken Pis statue. A spokesman for the Belgian federal police said the suspected attacker is dead.

Social media images showed an intense yet contained ball of fire in a almost empty underground arrival hall.

"There's a lot of military here, but the situation seems to be contained", Aazami said.

People in the area are being pushed away from the scene, and police on Twitter have urged the public to follow instructions given by the authorities.

The Belgian capital, home to the headquarters of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the European Union, has been on high alert since a Brussels-based Islamic State cell organized the attack that killed 130 people in Paris in November 2015.

No other people have been hurt but the explosion did cause panic at the railway station.

Security experts said Tuesday's incident could have been similar to "lone wolf" assaults carried out by radicalised individuals with limited access to weapons and training. She says at first sight no one else appears to have been wounded.

Brussels Central was evacuated and searched, with rail services from the station suspended. "However, this was a terrorist attack", Eric Van der Sijpt, spokesperson for the Belgian Federal prosecutor told reporters at a press conference.

Police in Brussels have reportedly shot and killed a man amid a bomb threat following an explosion at the busy Brussels Central Station.

The government agency that owns Belgium's railways was warned by a train driver who saw people running across the rail lines inside the station, spokesman Arnaud Reymann told broadcaster RTL. The nearby Grand Place, a major tourist destination, was also cleared.

The blast has been classed as a terrorist attack after a suspected bomber detonated a device in the station.

Working with China on North Korea 'has not worked out'
It is unclear why the family objected to an autopsy which could answer what happened to Warmbier in the secretive nation. Lakshmi Sammaraco said the office "accepted the case" of Otto Warmbier , who died Monday in a Cincinnati hospital.
