23 June 2017

At the top of the board, there's a four-way logjam for the lead with English pair Paul Casey and Tommy Fleetwood joining American duo Brooks Koepka and Brian Harman on 7-under par.

For the first time in a major, the top three players in the world all failed to make the cut.

He's still very much in play after shooting a 73.

One shot back. Jamie Lovemark.

They will have to contend with a group of three players, including first-round leader Rickie Fowler, tied for fifth at sixunder par and five others tied for eighth at five under par. Moments later, he began a run of five straight birdies that put him right where he wanted to be going into the weekend.

Then came the par-five 14th hole.

Escaped Georgia inmates captured in Tennessee
The couple who live there spent the next three hours tied up while the fugitives ate their beef stew and pilfered their valuables. The Bedford County Sheriff's Office told WSMV law enforcement stopped the auto on Interstate 24 near the Epps Mill Road exit.

Positioned 299 yards from the pin on the par-5 18th, and needing to hole out the shot to make the weekend, he lashed at a 3-wood that hit about pin high, then rolled off the back of the green.

"I started to let it go a little bit on the back nine today", he said. "It was a bit of a roller coaster".

The Northern Irishman opened the tournament with a 78 and despite a second round of 71, his five-over total left him four strokes off the cut mark.

He clawed that back with a birdie on the 12th, draining a six-foot putt but was soon in trouble on the 13th, three-putting for bogey. He is at 11 under, two shots ahead of Charley Hoffman and Tommy Fleetwood.

Despite the issues, though, Fowler remains in contention for his first major championship. "But at least I'll get to sit in the air con (air conditioning) and watch the guys tear it up on the weekend".

"If the sun stays like it is and the wind keeps baking this golf course out, it's going to be pretty treacherous on the weekend, which is just what I would like, and I think what the rest of the players want to see".

In total, eight of the top 12 players in the world missed the cut, including Masters runner-up Justin Rose, who shot 72, 74 for a 2-over total, Open champion Henrik Stenson and former Masters victor Adam Scott, who both finished 3-over, and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson on 4-over.

Fowler pitched the ball to about 18 feet, then missed the next putt on his way to a bogey.

The four leaders tied at the top after the second round are just getting started for the day but a few of the players that got out early on Moving Day are making birdie after birdie to climb up the leaderboard, which is creating quite the cluster at the top.

"I was in the hay too much", he said, before adding, "I enjoyed the walk", and, "The golf course is actually really lovely".

"As we all know, this game's all about putting", he said. "So it's pretty simple".

Asked if he would have been able to recover from such a mistake earlier in his career, Casey added: "In my good seasons, yes, but there have been times when I struggled, so probably not!"

Huge stuffed cow saves 2-year-old boy after fall out window
Fortunately I don't believe we've ever had a child die, but they have been seriously injured, breaking bones and whatnot. A two-year-old MA boy was bouncing on his bed with his sister Wednesday when he bounced right out the window.

The quartet are seven under at Erin Hills after a Friday that saw Japan's Hideki Matsuyama surge up a congested leaderboard with a stunning seven-under 65, while the world's top-ranked players were unable to stage recoveries. The man, who was reported to be not breathing and lacking a pulse, had CPR administered to him before being transferred to an on-site ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
