Cosby Trial: Juror Says It Was a 'True Deadlock'

The judge released their names Wednesday but warned them not to disclose any votes cast by fellow jurors or anything said or done in the jury room that would indicate another juror's opinion.

The juror added that the votes were 7-5 or 5-7 for much of the 52 hours of deliberations and described the grueling process as a "true deadlock" - contradicting a report Wednesday night from another anonymous juror that the vote was 10-2 to convict.

One member of the hung jury in Bill Cosby's mistrial said the panel was deeply divided from the very start of its marathon deliberations.

The two holdouts were "not moving, no matter what", the juror told the network.

The juror who spoke to ABC said tensions were high as deliberations wore on in a cramped back room at a century-old courthouse outside Philadelphia.

The air bags defect stems from use of the explosive chemical ammonium nitrate in the inflators to deploy the air bags in a crash. So far 100 million inflators have been recalled worldwide including 69 million in the USA , affecting 42 million vehicles.

For all intents and purposes, the deliberations ended after the jury first deadlocked after 30 hours of deliberations; a further 22 hours of deliberations did not change the minds of the holdouts, the juror explained.

Another juror told ABC News that jurors voted 10-2 to convict Cosby on two counts.

Cosby denies drugging and molesting accuser Andrea Constand at his home in 2004.

Although 10 of the 12 jurors who participated in Bill Cosby's highly-publicized trial believed the comedian was guilty of aggravated sexual assault, the other two kept him from getting convicted. The juror spoke on the condition of anonymity, but allowed Channel 11 News to record and use their voice. "Paid and suffered", the juror said.

Constand met Cosby at Temple University, where she was director of operations for the women's basketball team and he was on the board of trustees. O'Neill plans to hold the retrial within four months. Cosby was charged shortly before the statute of limitations was set to expire.

"I think they created this whole thing, a case that was settled in '05, and we had to bring it up again in '17 with no new evidence", the juror said.

"Many of them had puffy eyes, scowls; some of the people were clenching their fists".

"When you ask for help on your resume, on your resignation letter, which she did, and he, Mr. Cosby, invites her to his home and she arrives in a bare midriff with incense and bath salts, that's a question", said the juror, appearing to lump several meetings between Cosby and Constand into one.

He also talked about the tense atmosphere as jurors spent almost a week deliberating in close quarters, a room 13 feet by 16 feet.

After the judge declared the mistrial, Cosby's publicist said that his client has been "restored" by the legal system.
