Crowd catches teen who fell from park ride

26 June 2017

The accident happened on the Sky Ride at Six Flags Great Escape Amusement Park, about 55 miles (89 kilometers) north of Albany, New York. A crowd gathers around to catch her and a man climbs a tree to clear branches out of the way before she lets go, hits a tree, and falls 25 feet into the crowd. However, it remained closed Sunday while the park conducts an internal review, spokeswoman Rebecca Wood said. "Thank god she was there because maybe her neck would have got hurt".

The operator stopped the ride and a group of guests and employees gathered beneath the ride auto to catch the girl, who dropped into their arms.

Park staff and investigators have inspected the ride and found that it was working properly and all safety equipment was intact at the time of the incident.

He looked up to see the young girl dangling from a slow-moving gondola ride. There's a totally understandable amount of panic and urgency in the crowd, but some of them called out with words of calm and encouragement too, promising the girl that she'd be safe if she dropped.

Trump to host Modi in first face-to-face meeting
Or, better still, the two might connect on a personal level, possibly preventing further public outbursts of derision from Trump. The Trump administration has blamed Pakistan for harboring terror groups that were planning to hit India and Afghanistan.

A 47-year-old man visiting the park from Schenectady, N.Y., was also taken to a local hospital for a back injury he suffered as he tried to catch the girl, police said.

On their way toward the exits, his daughter Hayzel, 4, stopped to dance with Six Flags staff.

They are just glad the girl is ok.

A witness, Loren Lent, said the girl was hanging from a chair by just her arms and head.

White House forgoes Ramadan dinner for first time in two decades
Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan, is being celebrated across India on Monday. This is for the first time in almost two decades when the White House did not host an iftar dinner.

Is there any theme park horror story scarier than the one where someone falls out of a high-flying ride?

Lent noted that ride didn't have seat belts, only a bar to hold patrons inside. "The safety and security of our guests is our top priority and our thoughts and prayers are with our guest and her family".

Sunday was just another day here at Great Escape, but the Sky Ride was closed. "It's OK to let go, I'll catch you, honey, '" said Mr Howard. They didn't stay long, but said she was in some pain, but good spirits overall.

On Sunday, he visited the girl at the hospital with Winchell.
