Jaguar's smallest SUV yet, the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace has been finally been unveiled globally, but not without the company's trademark stunts in place. They closely resemble those of the electric Jaguar I-Pace concept which was shown at the 2016 Los Angeles motor show. "After driving the Jaguar F-PACE in the record-breaking loop-the-loop, it has been awesome to help launch the next chapter of the PACE family in an even more dramatic dynamic feat".
Under the bonnet the E-PACE is available with five 2.0-litre four-cylinder "Ingenium" petrol and diesels that have all been developed by Jaguar Land Rover. Both are mated to a nine-speed ZF automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard on all models. The entry-level 148bhp diesel is available with front or four-wheel drive and comes only with a six-speed manual gearbox if you choose front-wheel drive.
The design is already a giveaway that there is sports auto DNA in there.
A Jaguar wouldn't be a Jaguar without some serious motoring heft under the hood, and the E-Pace is no different. Four settings are offered: Normal, Dynamic - this can, depending on the car's specification, switch steering, throttle, the driveline, gearshift speeds, stability control and torque vectoring settings; Eco and a Rain, Ice and Snow.
A major highlight is the All Surface Progress Control system, which brings semi-autonomous technology to the off-roading realm, monitoring wheelslip and keeping the vehicle cruising steadily between 1.8 and 30km/h. There are 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque on tap in base, S and SE models of the E-Pace, while output jumps to 296 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque in the top R-Dynamic models.
In the United States, the 2018 E-PACE will kick off at $38,600 for the 246 HP model. "The taillights will be a Jaguar signature", he said.
Of interest from an evo perspective is a serious amount of track time included in the testing.
The E-Pace will also be manufactured at Chery Jaguar Land Rover's state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Changshu.
Kit Harington auditions as Daenerys in 'Jimmy Kimmel' sketch
With this revelation, fans can expect to see Snow meeting both Daenerys ( Emilia Clarke ) and Cersei (Lena Heady). That or Meera got exhausted of lugging Bran around and left him out there for the Night King to find.
Measuring in at 4395mm long, 1649mm tall and 1984mm wide, the E-PACE is just 7mm longer, 41mm taller than the Audi Q3 but a considerable 153mm wider. Short front and rear overhangs complement a teardrop design to the side windows, another element inspired by the F-Type. In all, it's an even more attractive space than the F-Pace's. A range of wheel from 17 to 21-inch in diameter will be available.
Inside, the cockpit design features a driver-oriented wraparound dash with a passenger grab handle on the center console, a layout inspired by the Jaguar F-Type 2-seat sports auto.
Due for release later in the year, the E-PACE features some high technology with 4G Wi-Fi and a super-sized touchscreen as standard.
In fact, underneath the body with its F-Type style headlamps, relatively low roofline and sloping tailgate is a platform based on the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque with a transverse engine layout.
Cell cancer therapy holds promise, longer-term results await
Cancer cells arise from normal cells, so the immune system doesn't always recognize that anything is wrong. When approved, the treatment will initially be available at 30 or 35 dedicated centres in the US.
Diesel engines will be offered in other markets; none are planned for North America. It will instead be manufactured at factories in China and Europe.
It won't though be built in the United Kingdom, but in Austria, with China starting to produce later next year. Pick a petrol E-Pace and you'll be hitting 62mph in either seven or 6.4 seconds.
Bank of Canada makes sharp jump in interest rates
This was the first rate hike in Canada in the last 10 years but the BOC had signalled it very clearly more than a month back. That compared with its April forecast for growth of 2.6 per cent this year, 1.9 per cent next year and 1.8 per cent in 2019.
