His remarks came shortly after outgoing vice-president Hamid Ansari asserted that "there is a feeling of unease and a sense of insecurity among the Muslims in the country". He said democracy is described by the protection of the minorities but at the same time minorities also have their own responsibilities. It is a political propaganda.

His predecessor Hamid Ansari and the first vice president S Radhakrishnan had held the post for two consecutive terms.

Ansari's successor M Venkaiah Naidu rejected Ansari's statements as "political propaganda".

Leicester City have had a busy transfer window so far, with Kelechi Iheanacho their biggest signing. Arsenal , however, did end last season on a high by beating Chelsea to win the FA Cup.

"The courts can say that we don't recognise it (triple talaq)". "Many years of your life were spent in that circle".

"There might have been some uneasiness in you". "There may have been deep within you an anxiety but perhaps after today there would be no such worry". There will be the joy of freedom for you. You lived in that atmosphere, that thought, the debates among those people.

The former vice-chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University - from where he completed his doctorate - was the chairman of the National Commission for Minorities post retirement when the United Progressive Alliance government and the Left named him as their candidate for the vice presidential post. Leader of opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad praised Ansari for the way he conducted the proceedings of the House and recalled how he never used several honorary degrees that he got from different countries. Kailash Vijayvargiya claimed Ansari was looking for political shelter while party spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said he was playing politics by commenting on sensitive issues.

Naidu was administered the oath of office by President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Ansari's comments drew sharp criticism from the ruling BJP. Hamid Ansari told in n the interview earlier this week that Muslims are feeling unease and not feeling safe in their own country.

Mr Naidu also said some people blow out of proportion such incidents for political considerations.

Taylor Swift is not here for your victim blaming
Mueller, his hair white compared to his image from the photo op, stared at a table while the singer-songwriter testified. Mueller sued Swift and others on her team, denying he groped Swift and claiming they cost him his job.

There was some support for Ansari. The opposition parties accuse the BJP-led NDA government of not doing enough to rein in fringe groups targeting minorities since Narendra Modi government came to power in 2014. In reply to farewell felicitations by members, Mr Ansari said deviations from this golden rule contribute neither to diligent policy making nor to the claim to be mature democracy based on Rule of Law.
