Aguayo has been pretty bad as an National Football League kicker.

Well, according to Field Yates of ESPN, the Bears have claimed Aguayo, and he will now do battle with Connor Barth through the rest of the preseason.

Though he was eventually released by the Dolphins, he ended up in New Orleans, where he won a preseason battle with kicker Dustin Hopkins and started the season as the Saints' kicker.

McIlroy was two-storkes over par heading into the hole after carding a bogey on No. 9 at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte , N.C. For the second straight day, McIlroy went through a bad stretch of holes that sent him further away from the lead.

Barth made 16 of 18 field goals from 45 yards or closer last season (one of those misses was blocked).

Meanwhile, Aguayo missed on nine of his 31 field goal attempts as a rookie for the Buccaneers in 2016.

The Bears are now responsible for that, whether he makes the team or not, an investment that suggests he'll have a real chance to challenge Barth for Chicago's kicking job.

The Buccaneers will move forward with 11-year veteran kicker Nick Folk. He never missed an extra point attempt either. Folk was given a $1.75 million contract by the Bucs, including $750,000 guaranteed, more than Aguayo's entire 2017 salary. I did some good things.
