In Texas, flooding and damage from Harvey has forced tens of thousands of people out of their homes.

Singapore's defense ministry says as many as four of its military helicopters will start assisting in Tropical Storm Harvey relief efforts Wednesday. So for scale, I think of the need, you know, and how many people have been needing shelter.

"I wonder why", one man repeated as he lay on his cot.

The convention center will also have recreational activities, a pharmacy operated by Wal-Mart, and charging stations for electronic devices, Rawlings said.

The district is accepting white collared shirts, khaki trousers, brown or black belts, backpacks and school supplies for grades K to 12 at the Dallas ISD's Education Center, located at 9400 North Central Expressway, during business hours through September 8.

"Oh my God in heaven", said Robert Hart, 64, a homeless Marine veteran accustomed to staying in shelters. Organizers with the Red Cross estimate the convention center can accommodate roughly 5,000 people.

When volunteers announced lunch was served -a mix of rice and vegetables -more than a hundred people lined up. Others, like Moore, are still showing up in search of food, water and clothing.
