South Carolina Evacuation Routes & Zones for Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma is moving away from SC in the projected storm track, but the state's leaders continued Sunday to impress upon Palmetto State residents the dangers they still face.

McMaster said President Trump called him Sunday from Camp David and said that the federal government is willing to do whatever it needed to help the state. Mandatory evacuations for coastal areas east of I-95 and all of Chatham County remain in place and contraflow on I-16 will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday. Counties on the barrier islands impacted were Colleton, Jasper and Beaufort.

Zone B includes portions of the Waccamaw Neck between the immediate coastline and the Waccamaw River - including parts of Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island, Surfside Beach and Garden City not in Zone A. Moving inland, Zone B is adjacent to Zone A and also includes much of greater Georgetown and the Sampit area.

Governor McMaster says there are 579 national guard on duty, 100 troopers assisting law enforcement, and 89 state guardsmen on duty.
