US Calls for UN Security Council Vote on North Korea on Monday

13 September 2017

North Korea's Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on state media that if the U.S. "does rig up the illegal and unlawful "resolution" it would respond in kind.

According to the White House, Trump and Xi "committed to strengthen coordination and take further action with the goal of achieving the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula". "Is it inevitable? Nothing is inevitable", Trump said during a news conference. Besides having in-depth discussions about handling the North Korean issue, "I want to start concrete talks on ways to cooperate substantively" in such fields as the economy, he said.

"This is a signal that China's policy to North Korea has not changed over the past decade", he said.

Even as Trump has insisted that now is not the time to talk to North Korea, senior members of his administration have made clear that the door to a diplomatic solution remains open, especially given the United States assessment that any pre-emptive strike would unleash massive North Korean retaliation.

"The United Nations Security Council has spoken with unusual unity and consistency on North Korea".

"In order to compel North Korea to come to the dialogue table, United Nations sanctions must be strengthened", Moon told Putin, a South Korean spokesman told the Yonhap news agency.

At least two dozen people died in the storm there and reports suggested almost all buildings on some islands had been destroyed . He noted that FEMA was continuing to rescue people stranded by flooding around Jacksonville , in the state's northeast.

Among the celebrations was a gala event in honor of North Korea's nuclear scientists, who successfully conducted the country's sixth nuclear test. Kim Jong-un learned the lesson of the USA invasion of Iraq - that the U.S. will attack only those countries that do not yet have nuclear weapons - and ramped up its own nuclear programme.

"Now it is inevitable to cut off oil supplies to the North, we hope Russian Federation will cooperate as well", Moon was quoted as telling Putin by presidential spokesman Yoon Young-Chan, Yonhap news agency reported.

Trump has repeatedly leaned on China in hopes that the North Korean neighbor and its biggest trading partner will exert its influence to bring a stop to the regime's increasingly aggressive nuclear and ballistic missile activity, which have increased in the first months of Trump's presidency.

Trump has urged China to do more to rein in its neighbour, which was typically defiant on Thursday.

"Russia and Japan are steadily building up mutual trust, mutually beneficial cooperation, which can not but promote the creation of a favourable atmosphere for finding a solution for the peace treaty".

A separate article warns South Korea that "the U.S.is not a protector of the south Korean people but arrogant aggressor and root cause of misfortune and disaster".

Gillibrand joins train of Dem 2020 hopefuls backing Medicare-for-all
The momentum among Democratic 2020 hopefuls showcases the scale of Sanders' early influence over the 2020 Democratic process. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., said the measure was aimed at "a section of the Democratic base that needs to be appealed to".

The measure would also scrap all joint ventures with North Korea.

Russian Federation is increasingly advocating an arms control strategy to accept North Korea as a nuclear state, disagreeing with the United States and its allies, and even to a degree with China, which all support applying sanctions to force Pyongyang into denuclearization talks. "So far there is nothing inconsistent with the North Korean claim that this was a hydrogen bomb, but we don t have a conclusive view on it yet".

"We are not kidding when we say all options are on the table", one official said.

South Korea's defense ministry said Wednesday that the US military will install the four additional THAAD launcher early Thursday morning.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang also reiterated Beijing's opposition to South Korea's deployment of the US Terminal High-Altitude Area Defence System, also known as THAAD, which is meant to protect against North Korean missile attacks.

Two launchers have been operational at the site since May, CNN reported.
