Samsung hopes to launch foldable phone in 2018

We first started seeing folding display prototypes from Samsung in 2013.

And on Tuesday, just hours before Apple's Tim Cook took to the stage, Samsung Electronics president of mobile business, Koh Ding-jin, said in an interview with Associated Press: "As the head of the business, I can say our current goal is next year".

The Note 8 is a successor to Samsung's ill-fated Note 7, which was recalled twice and discontinued after it spontaneously overheated or caught fire.
