25 September, Monday: Expressing their solidarity with their kind in Varanasi, students in New Delhi take out protest marches and engage in clashes with the police.

The protests reach the national capital, and various student political outfits condemn the incident.

The Vice-Chancellor was criticised for victim shaming and was even blamed for not taking action on the complaint by the women students. BHU has been criticised by its alumni as well as current students for having policies that give more leeway to the male students over the women.
