Amazon announces new Echo speaker for just $99

28 September 2017

Amazon released the second-generation Echo Wednesday, which provides the first major upgrade to the device since it was introduced nearly three years ago.

Amazon just ramped up its smarthome game-and Echo product line-with new Echo and Echo Plus smart speakers, and the Echo Spot. Users can play video from Amazon Video and other sources (except YouTube). "There is no technical reason for that decision, which is disappointing and hurts both of our customers", Amazon said in a statement. According to a report from The Verge, YouTube is no longer available on Amazon's smart home, touchscreen-toting speaker (or as we like to call such devices, computer). The second device to launch is the Echo Connect and is priced at $35.

Trump, GOP weigh surtax on wealthy, doubled deduction
He said "I hope" the top corporate tax rate will be cut to 15 percent from the current 35 percent. "I'm not going to negotiate". While Trump claimed parts of his tax proposal would hurt his wallet, he seemed sure the plan would bolster his popularity.

Amazon says unlike the original Echo, consumers will not need to use Alexa apps or Skills to connect with smart light bulbs and other appliances, with the device automatically discovering devices when turned on. The Echo Spot, a clocklike device with a video display, and a new version of Fire TV also made appearances. However, Amazon has criticised Google's move, saying that YouTube was blocked on the device "without explanation".

However, the implementation of YouTube on Echo Show is a violation of Google's terms of service, which creates a broken user experience, and Google hopes it can reach some sort of agreement and resolve the issue soon. Nevertheless, Amazon claims the new speakers will deliver "immersive sound", with "better bass, better treble".

Senate GOP pulls Graham-Cassidy bill to avoid vote defeat
The decision marked the latest defeat on the issue for President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell , R-Ky. On Monday, Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) announced that she would not support the bill, saying that it was "deeply flawed".

Today, Amazon unveils the next generation Echo, and oh my, it looks fantastic. Do you think the firm was right to pull YouTube content from Amazon's Echo Show? They realized that it would be hard to get people to outfit their entire home with that product, so they released the Echo Dot.

Thanks to Alexa, you can use your Fire TV to control your connected home gadgets, play music on your TV, view camera feeds, and a lot more-all with your voice.

No vote this week on GOP health care bill
With the newly updated bill, four states: Alaska, Maine, Arizona and Kentucky , would receive more funding. Lindsey Graham , one of the bill's principal authors, had framed it as "federalism versus socialism".

Google is slated to follow suit next month, when it is expected to announce the Pixel 2 smartphone and perhaps another version of its Google Home smart speaker.
