LA Chargers Hope To End Losing Streak As They Face Philadelphia Eagles

01 October 2017

Fernando Ramirez handles the three things the Chargers must do to avoid showing up on "NFL Celebrity Apprentice" while Derek Togerson looks at how a very good but banged up Eagles team can improve to 3-1. The Eagles also will be without key reserves on the defensive line and at cornerback, meaning Philip Rivers should be able to get the offense into a rhythm that doesn't resemble your awkward parents at a wedding.

This week four match-up is important for Philly, but it's definitely a do-or-die scenario for Los Angeles. Antonio Gates of the Chargers has spent most of his career as the best tight end on the field but there is no question Ertz is the best at the position inside the StubHub Center this Sunday. Safety Rodney McLeod is expected to play against the Bolts, which is big news. The defense kept the passing game in front of them and Melvin Ingram led a withering pass rush, but they couldn't hold down rookie running back Kareem Hunt, whose long, late touchdown run sealed the game.

After two close losses to start the season, the Chargers appeared listless in a 24-10 home defeat at the hands of the Chiefs.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had a rough outing last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. The following week, the Dolphins came to town and Rivers' team ended up on the losing side again.

Trump Promotes Republican Tax Cuts, Says 'Rebirth of American Industry Has Begun'
In fact, some estimates show that Californians, in total, now deduct over $100 billion in taxes from their federal tax liability. Trump , a real estate mogul-turned-politician, had pledged that the tax plan would not benefit the rich, himself included.

"There's been times where there has been a game like that and it would have been 35 to nothing when I have a span like I had for 15 minutes there", Rivers said.

However, Gordon was limited to just two carries for 1 yard in the second half. "I'm just trying to go out there and make plays when the ball is in the air", Ertz said.

In the Philadelphia area, the game can be heard on SportsRadio 94WIP, with Merrill Reese and Mike Quick on the call. It's understandable for all the hoopla to die down after a team's first season in a new city, but the drop-off should not be this drastic. The Week 2 loss was the first of three straight for the Eagles before the team would eventually rattle off wins in nine of their final 12 games to earn a postseason appearance.

Saints will both kneel and stand while in London
He didn't practice Wednesday, but barring something spectacular happening, I still see him suiting up for Sunday's game. With their defense forcing five turnovers, all from Cam Newton, Drew Brees didn't have to do a lot passing the ball.

Tim Jernigan and Beau Allen will start at defensive tackle for the Eagles. The Eagles like to use play-action with Carson Wentz and it isn't effective if the team doesn't believe that you are actually going to run it. Los Angeles' defense has already allowed two teams to put up at least 140 yards on the ground.

The Chargers' defense is ranked 31st in defending the run, which opens a lot of possibilites for LeGarrette Blount and Wendell Smallwood.

It's hard to judge the defensive performance from Los Angeles last week. The Chargers are hoping for a happy ending with their rookie kicker, Younghoe Koo, after a blocked kick in Week 1 and a pair of misses in Week 2 had some rightfully wondering if the Chargers were going to make a change. Bosa was the National Football League rookie of the year in 2016, and he already has 2.5 sacks in three games this season.

The Eagles offensive line has allowed their quarterback to be sacked 11 times, which is fifth most in the NFL.

Coming off an impressive win against the Houston Texans , the New England Patriots will get ready to face the Carolina Panthers . Cam Newton tossed three interceptions, fumbled twice and threw for 167 yards against the worst passing defense in the league.
