At an event in New York Jan. 23, Chinese manufacturer DJI showed off its latest drone, the diminutive Mavic Air. It has all of the easy-to-use features that debuted on the Spark, including controlling the drone by waving your hands (and looking like a Jedi in the process) and recording maneuvers that are only a single button push away. The DJI Mavic Air is priced at $799 (roughly Rs.50,900) and falls in between the DJI Spark and DJI Mavic Pro. DJI wants us to make an upgrade to a new drone when many buyers have barely had a chance to destroy their old one. The Mavic Air is available to pre-order now and orders start shipping on January 28. The Mavic Air is not much heavier at 430 grams. The DJI Spark is now $399 - down from the $499 launch price (and £449 / AU$649) price tag. That's what happened at today's press conference.
Drone maker DJI has introduced a new drone that can be folded into the size of a regular smartphone.
The DJI Mavic Air will come in three colors: Artic white, onyx black, and flame red.
Earlier this month, the United States firm announced that it was quitting the drone business despite previously saying that it was working on a sequel. We're mighty impressed with this little drone but we'd also love to hear your thoughts.
Perhaps most notable in terms of differences between the two drones is the design.
Phone control is available via the DJI Go 4 app, for Android and iOS. There's also Full HD 1080p video at 120fps, wrapped in a body that DJI says is their most portable yet, weighing 430g. These can be activated with a tap and helps you capture certain video shots without having to have advanced piloting or camerawork skills. DJI says the new Mavic Air has been developed with the traveller and outdoor enthusiast in mind.Читайте также: Pence's Israel Visit Shadowed by Palestinian Snub Over Jerusalem
DJI has also managed to pack a lot of impressive hardware despite the fact that the Mavic Air is 41 percent lighter than its Pro counterpart.
Other features include compatibility with DJI Goggles, 8GB of internal media storage and an enhanced Visual Positioning System. There are six flight modes, two of which are new, that let the camera fly in a predefined path around the subject and capture creative footage on its own.
You can also choose a "Fly More Combo" bundle which includes additional propellers, batteries as well as a battery charging hub, power bank adapter and travel bag.
"For it to attract current Mavic Pro owners, it will need to offer improved video quality to tempt them as they would already be invested in multiple spare batteries, which won't be compatible with this new model, as is the case for every new model that DJI brings out", Philip Bloom told the BBC. Unlike the Mavic Pro's awesome 27-minute flight time, the Mavic Air can only stay in the air for up to 21 minutes.
With the money you save on buying this more compact, foldable drone, you could buy an extra battery or two and solve that problem, if you're tempted by the Pro.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
