Android 8.1 Oreo Beta Update Now Available for the Nokia 8

25 January 2018

When Google announced Android 8.1 back in December, it showed off a feature that placed a speed label next to public Wi-Fi networks.

Slow networks are fine for phone calls and texting, OK networks will allow you to stream music, load webpages, and view social media feeds. If scanning a network indicates it is very fast, don't rely on it staying that way. In case the network shows "Fast" users can stream most videos - including YouTube, while under the "Very Fast" category they will be able to stream very high-quality videos and also perform all tasks online.

Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep storm into Australian Open semifinals
It took 2 hours and 8 minutes of encapsulating tennis for Kerber finally to unlock the mystery of Hsieh's unpredictable play. So what might be considered a "safe ball" against some people isn't, because you know you're going to be on the run.

Google reckons the new network speed feature will take the guesswork out of choosing a Wi-Fi network.

Like most other Android open features, you have the option to deactivate the feature under the Wi-Fi settings menu.

The Genius in question then inexplicably dropped serve, but it did not matter. "That first set could have gone either way". Chung later evened the score at 5-5, but Sandgren collected three forehand winners in the next game to retake the lead.

Google says the new Android 8.1 Wi-Fi feature is rolling out now. However, the above marking would only be applicable to open Wi-Fi networks that do not need a password to log in.

"Public Wi-Fi can be spotty". Based on that users can decide whether to connect to a Wi-Fi network or not. Do note that this feature requires the phone to be running Android 8.1 Oreo. Google has confirmed that you will now be able to know how fast the connection is. Also, if a network wants to opt out of publicly sharing their speed they can do that. Unfortunately this one is exclusive to the Google Pixel smartphone line-up and may become available in the near future. That means, connecting to a slower Wi-Fi network ends here with the Android 8.1 Oreo. If you're not a fan of the features as mentioned earlier and want to save on some precious system resources, this is the app for you, as it consumes almost half the amount of RAM compared to the stock Gboard.

He says, "What we're going to try and do is better identify and value meaningful social interactions between people". Facebook thought putting "disputed" flags on fake news stories would help out, but people only clicked more.
