Kentucky governor declares Sunday 'Day of Prayer' in Marshall County

The schools used the rivalry game to raise money for the victims of the Marshall County High School shooting.

At this point past year, there had been five school shootings nationwide. "She was an angel here on Earth".

Bailey was the only victim to die at the scene of the shooting. "They have become much more common, and people seem to be not as shocked as the ones before".

"They started school together, and then they ended school together".

She did not hear her daughter on the other end of the line, though. "I'm going to stand where I stood when I got shot and I'll be there and I'll be the first one in if that's what Marshall County wants me to do, '" Brian Evans told WLKY Friday.

The mass shooting remains under investigation by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

The 15-year-old suspect in the Marshall County High School shooting was in court on Thursday, January 25.

If that statement about shootings and the actual shootings themselves doesn't shock people, who knows what else will. "This kid's a fifteen-year-old kid and one thing that I've learned over the last 18 years about a 15-year-old kid is that they're lost".

Prosecutors said Wednesday they want to charge the juvenile as an adult.

Two students are still undergoing treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The injured students were transported to hospitals for treatment as the shaken, rural community of Benton tried to make sense of what had just unfolded.

Police say two students were killed, 14 were wounded by gunfire and seven others suffered other injuries when the boy opened fire at the school Tuesday before classes began.

The support has been big at Henderson County High School all week - one reason is because their principal graduated from Marshall County High School. "We're down right now but we're coming back", says Angie. "Everyone in cars started turning around and driving away". Fourteen others survived gunshot wounds.

Miller said their church congregation chose to worship in the midst of this tragedy because they believe that God can redeem and work through all situations. "I ask God to give you comfort in this bad time".

Police arrested the alleged shooter, but have not released his name.
