Metro Detroit Weather: WINTER STORM WARNING

The snow that began falling late Thursday afternoon was expected to continue through Friday as the storm moves east.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.

Helena public schools canceled all Friday classes due to the unsafe weather conditions. Check the list here. Slick conditions will impact travel through the night. The ice and snow will continue in upstate NY, western Pennsylvania and into New England.

As of 5 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, the winter storm watch extended from Red Deer County to the entire southern border of Alberta.
