Next steps for SpaceX's Falcon Heavy - Air Force qualification

10 February 2018

After SpaceX sent a Tesla Roadster into space, manned by the "Starman", it seemed to be on its way to the asteroid belt.

The Roadster is in an even more elongated orbit now that stretches from Earth on one end, all the way to the neighborhood of Ceres on the other. All of that work is many, many years in the future. He also maintained his goal to produce 1 million vehicles annually by 2020. Tesla has never made a full-year profit since it went public in 2010.

Tesla Semi, the automaker's electric truck division launched in November, has been accumulating many reservations over the last few months, but the total count was never clear nor the overall size of the market for the electric truck. Total loss for fiscal 2017 was $2.24 billion, nearly tripling the loss in 2016.

Musk is a masterful marketer, and the red ink may not stem investors' excitement.

Budget deal faces stiff opposition
Senate leaders had celebrated the budget deal as a sign they had left behind some of their chronic dysfunction. The money momentum has also helped fuel Democrats who are seeking re-election in potentially tough districts.

Thankfully, with the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch (Roadster cargo 'n all) out of the way, Musk is back to addressing the bottlenecks holding up Model 3 production.

-The world's first space sports vehicle is cruising toward the asteroid belt, well beyond Mars.

"China needs to resolve the technical problems with its Long March 5 rocket first, and make it more reliable in the coming two years, because that is the basis for developing the Long March 9 rocket", Song said. The wait time for each customer depends on which version of the Model 3 they purchased.

The company said it still was waiting on news about the landing of its center core booster, which was set to touch down on a floating platform at sea.

Model 3 Delays Create Losses for Tesla
A rocket capable of carrying a payload over 20 metric tonnes is classified under the Heavy-Lift Launch Vehicle (HLLV) category. Conceivably, the Falcon Heavy could even transport people to the moon, at a fraction of the expected cost of an SLS launch.

With that in mind, Tesla announced new production goals for the Model 3. In a statement, it said that the company will be deriving huge data from the demonstration. "Our recent acquisitions of advanced automation companies have added to our talent base and are helping us increase Model 3 production rates more effectively".

"I think it looks so ridiculous and impossible, and you can tell it's real because it looks so fake, honestly", Musk said at a press conference Tuesday.

SHIFTING TARGETS: Tesla delivered 103,181 vehicles previous year, up 35 percent over 2016 and ahead of its targets. By the end of Q1 2018, Tesla wants to build 2,500 of the sedans per week. We can not just stay in our little bubble that is Earth, instead, we must see what else is out there.

The Model 3, priced starting at Dollars 35,000, is key to Tesla's effort to becoming a mass producer and reshaping the automotive market.

House Passes Spending Bill Ending Overnight Government Shutdown
The first was a result of Senate Democrats' strategy on immigration . "Both parties", he said before ending his remarks at 7pm. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi made history this week with her 8 hour, 7 minute filibuster demanding a debate on DACA.
