PyeongChang organisers cyber-attacked during opening ceremony

12 February 2018

Hosts South Korea produced a show of unity with neighbours North Korea during the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang yesterday.

Pyeongchang: The number of people struck down by a virus causing vomiting and diarrhoea at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics have more than doubled to 86, though athletes remain unaffected, the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said.

Kim Jong-un hasn't set foot outside North Korea or met a single head of state since he assumed power upon the death of their father, Kim Jong-il, in late 2011.

The Winter Olympics that opened here Friday are taking on an unusually political tone as North Korea tries to drive a wedge between South Korea and the US through an aggressive charm offensive.

Ronaldo Hits Hat-trick As Real Madrid Trounce Real Sociedad
There is no secret. "We have the immediate chance to do that on a stage like the Bernabeu against a team with great players". Whatever might have happened in the past counts for nothing against Madrid .

They're having a ball if pictures taken of them at the event in Pyeongchang, South Korea, are anything to go by. The rhetoric war between North Korea and the Trump administration hasn't skipped a beat in Pyeongchang.

In response, Moon said, "Let's create conditions going forward and make it". The vice president also drew criticism from some openly gay members of Team USA, who questioned his role at the Olympics due to his anti-LGBT views.

US Vice President Mike Pence also attended the Games opening ceremony but had no contact with the North Korean delegation.

"Kim Yong Nam, Kim Yo Jong and President Moon Jae In and his wife all stood up to wave to the players of the north and the south", it said.

USA backs Israel over Syria airstrikes
The Israeli military said early assessments indicated the jet had been shot down by Syrian fire, but this was still unconfirmed. He said that while Israel had no interest in further escalation it was prepared to "extract a heavy price" for such aggression.

Kim Jong Un wanted to meet Moon "in the near future" and would like for him to visit North Korea "at his earliest convenience", his sister told Moon.

"At any moment, he could have gotten up and left and sat somewhere else, and then you would have had the image of North sitting in the box with South Korea and Japan", the official added.

He said war had forged "the core of the bond" between the USA and South Korea and that helps explains "why there is no daylight and there will be no daylight" between the two.

North Korea has made clear that it does not intend to negotiate away its nuclear and missile programs in return for relief from worldwide sanctions.

Fans return Eagles CB Sidney Jones' lost cellphone
Without failure, who would you be? "For 52 years, you've been starved for a championship!" Everybody wonders why we're so mean. That fan celebrated the Super Bowl, only to return to her first love, the New York Giants as she stated in a different post.

The vice president's visit was also marked by bad blood between Pence and some US athletes. A national poll found that 46.5% of Koreans say Kim played the most important part in PyeongChang winning the bid for the 2018 games.
