International Women's Day being observed

08 March 2018

Kangaloo said this year's theme "The time is now: Rural and Urban Activists Transforming Women's Lives", is both welcome and timely as it places attention on some of the more pervasive inequalities that need urgent attention. International Womens Day 2018

This week brings a lot of joy to me, having been at the helm of women activism since 2002. "Now, more than ever, there's a strong call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity". "And, indeed, much broader issues of the extent to which there's gender balance in decision-making and whether women are full participants in the decision-making in a particular society", she explains.

"If the government will provide Guaranteed Livable Income, so we're not talking about welfare rates that really doom people to stay poor, but enough income that will allow women to have dignified lives", Kerner says. I was lucky enough to catch up with three women who make contributions to the local community in various industries.

US-North Korea talks may precede inter-Korean dialogue in April — Seoul
Maybe as Kim Jong-un sent his sister to South Korea, perhaps he has the intention to send his sister to Washington DC. Still Trump would not discuss any preconditions for possible talks, saying: "We're going to see what happens".

But are girls actually running the world?

Many on social media found it ironic that the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced this "huge pay gap" a day before International Women's Day.
