Indian govt's coalition partner pulls out its two federal ministers

Despite the TDP and BJP coalition in the state as well as in the Centre, the latter is accused of not taking the special status demand seriously.

The two TDP MP and union minister met the Prime Minister at his residence at on Thursday evening after PM Modi had spoken to Chandrababu Naidu. The Prime minister told Naidu that "let us sit and discuss the matter".

According to TDP Sources, "AP CM Naidu explained to the Modi about reasons leading to central ministers' resignation and TDP withdrawing from Union Government".

President Ram Nath Kovind of Friday accepted the resignations of TDP ministers from the Modi government, a day after they stepped down in protest against the Centre's failure to give Andhra Pradesh a special status category. The TDP was among the parties opposed to the carving out of Telangana as a separate state out of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
