Ford Bronco Teased; New Small Off-Road Crossover Confirmed

Within two years, Ford will offer eight different SUVs, including a new Explorer and Escape. But it's not. Of course the all-new Ford Bronco is coming in 2020, but the company will also, for North America, present a smaller off-road utility vehicle.

While Ford was busy talking about its upcoming hybrid Mustang and F-150, we were given the opportunity to see the new Bronco!

Similar safety functions will be added to Ford's F-650/750 and E-Series trucks, the latter of which will continue production into the 2020s. "A hybrid powertrain will also add capability for F-Series with more low-end pulling power, along with the added benefit of serving as a mobile generator".

Ford Australia has been asked for comment on how the North American plans would affect the company's products sold here.

On the fuel efficiency front, the Blue Oval automaker invested $11 billion to develop an electric vehicle architecture, which can better accommodate battery packs and fuel-efficient components than the old-school way involving slapping bulky batteries in cars that weren't created to properly house them.
