4th Nor'easter Moves into New England

24 March 2018

"The storm had already brought 3" to 4" (8cm to 10cm) of snow to Manhattan and lashed parts of the East Coast with winds of more than 50mph (80kph), according to the Weather Prediction Centre.

Philadelphia could see up to a foot of snow. Winds were a little brisk at times but thankfully weren't too much of a factor, or else power outages would have resulted due to the heavy wet nature of the snow.

The nor'easter was on track to dump 12 to 18 inches (30 to 46 cm) of snow on areas from Philadelphia to New York City on Wednesday, said Weather Prediction Center meteorologist Dan Petersen.

"The snow itself is not a threat at this stage of the bloom cycle", park service spokesman Mike Litterst said in email, adding that the blooms are "still safely ensconced in the tight buds".

There are wind warnings posted, and southeastern MA has the highest risk of power outages during this storm. There also could be gusts of 10 to 23 miles per hour. On Interstate 90, Lookout Pass is expected to receive 2 to 4 inches Friday through Saturday.

Flooding is a threat along the coast from Virginia to MA. This is because that's when the core of the storm moves in, and it will be dark, so it's easier for snow to stick.

An up-and-down final month included four consecutive losses, the longest skid in Calipari's nine-year tenure with the Wildcats. Kansas State is a good defensive team , but Kentucky's offense is operating on an nearly superhuman level at the moment.
