Actress Margot Kidder Dead At Age 69

15 May 2018

Kidder, best known for her role opposite Christopher Reeve in the "Superman" films of the 1970s and 1980s, has died at age 69, a Montana funeral home confirmed on Monday.

A funeral home in Livingston, Montana, where the actress lived, said Kidder died at her home on Sunday. Kidder reprised her role in the three Superman sequels that followed. She played that mix of brilliant reporter and tough cookie with a soft spot for the ultimate hero perfectly, and it's why Margot Kidder beat out dozens of other famous actresses who tried out for the role.

Kidder also appeared in Brian De Palma's thriller Sisters (1973); in the slasher film Black Christmas (1974); and the drama The Great Waldo Pepper (1975), opposite Robert Redford.

I don't love anyone like how I love my son! It also pays homage and highlights the several sacrifices they make on a daily basis. Anna Jarvis just wanted to honor her mother. "In the evening I may visit an old age home with a cake for abandoned mothers".

But for an entire generation, Margot Kidder is the Lois Lane.

Kidder had numerous film's most memorable lines, including "You've got me?!" In 2006, she told an audience at the Industrial Accident Prevention Association, "I've had 10 years now, this week actually, 10 years without a manic or depressive episode, which is for me such a miracle!" It wasn't until she was forced into therapy that she was able to get a handle on her health.

She also became a champion for mental illness after suffering some very public breakdowns in the late 1990s. Whether throwing herself off a building to "prove" Kent's secret, or crying in his office at the realization that her life with Superman would never be easy, she was able to run the gamut of emotions, while always staying true to Lane's indomitable spirit.

It would have been understandable had the 36-hole leader faltered on Saturday; sleeping with the lead is notoriously hard . Simpson's shot on 17 rolled to within three feet of the cup, and he knocked home the birdie putt without any problem.

The actress, who leaves behind a daughter, was married and divorced thrice in her life. There are very few who have been able to really perfectly gel into the legacy of Lois Lane, and Terri Hatcher is probably a close second, but there is something special about Kidder.

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill was among the first to pay tribute to Kidder.

This was later reported as the rationale she appeared in lower than 5 minutes of Superman III 4 years later. "Off-screen she was one of the kindest, sweetest, most caring woman I've ever known".

Mickelson blamed fatigue after the strain of fighting his way to a share of fifth in last week's Wells Fargo Championship . He hit the green at the hard 237-yard par-3 eighth and lipped out on a 42-foot birdie try.

As news broke of Margot's death tonight, her Lois Lane Superman co-star Teri Hatcher took to Twitter to pen a heartfelt message.
