Donald Trump Tweets Victorious After Brett Kavanaugh’s Pugnacious Testimony: "Senate Must Vote!"

28 September 2018

Jeff Flake, R-Arizona, a GOP swing vote, announced he would support moving forward with the understanding of an investigation into allegations against Kavanaugh. Instead the nomination that Republicans were rushing for a vote now hangs precariously after one of the most emotionally charged hearings Capitol Hill has ever seen. His support likely ensures that Kavanaugh's nomination will pass out of the committee with a one-vote majority. "I can not imagine for the next 40 years they will have someone in the Supreme Court who has been accused of violating a young girl", one of the women said.

After the incident, one of the women who confronted the senator, Ana Maria Archila co-Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy and the Center for Popular Democracy Action, released this statement: "Earlier this week, I shared my survivor story for the first time in front of Senator Jeff Flake " s office and I know that I am not alone. She said she was "profoundly disappointed" in Flake. Kavanaugh has denied that he sexually assaulted Ford.

"The allegations made against Judge Kavanaugh are disturbing and credible", he said.

Kavanaugh noted he was "thoroughly vetted" by the ABA.

Thursday's testimony appeared to have only sharpened the partisan divide over Trump's nominee.

"This is a failure of this body to do it what has always said it's about, which is to be deliberative", Sen.

Reasons you should buy the iPhone 8 instead of iPhone XS
Last year, Apple failed to launch its HomePod connected speaker in December and pushed the released to February of this year. If you're an iPhone 6s devotee, you can still buy the devices through your carrier, or find refurbished versions online.

"Yesterday, we heard compelling testimony from Dr. Ford, as well as a persuasive response from Judge Kavanaugh", Flake said in a statement.

Mr. Flake issued a statement Friday saying he still can not be certain of what really happened back then, but said without any evidence to corroborate Ms. Blasey Ford's account, he wouldn't deny the judge elevation to the high court.

"We make this request because of the ABA's respect for the rule of law and due process under law", the ABA letter to committee leadership said. "Nobody believed me", one survivor revealed.

But Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who received Ford's allegations in July, did nothing publicly with those charges until last week - just days before the committee was scheduled to vote on President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee's confirmation.

Flake did not address the two women's questions directly, but repeatedly said, "thank you" - including when he was asked by Archila if he thinks Kavanaugh is telling the truth.

"Look at me and tell me that it doesn't matter what happened to me!" she added.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus signs letter supporting Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford
White House spokesperson Raj Shah says Kavanaugh "looks forward to a hearing" and "stands ready to testify". Republican Susan Collins said the Senate Judiciary Committee should hear the Brett Kavanaugh allegations.

"I'm a single white male from SC, and I'm told I should just shut up, but I will not shut up", Sen.

Those same Republicans then take steps to voluntarily leave themselves in the dark, not only finding no need for an Federal Bureau of Investigation examination, but rejecting efforts to hear directly from relevant witnesses.

Republican Sens. Flake, Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Susan Collins (R-Maine) reportedly met behind closed doors, along with moderate Democrat Joe Manchin (W. Va.) following Thursday's hearings.

Democrats also verbally protested the move Friday morning to schedule the committee vote for the afternoon, with four Democratic members walking out of the meeting.

"This is a sham what's going on in there right now".

"I welcome whatever the committee wants to do", he said.

But with Apple boosting the average iPhone selling price by almost 20 percent, it still meant a bumper year for the tech firm. It claims the iPhone XS runs for half an hour longer than last year's X, while the XS Max lasts an additional 1.5 hours.
